Ever since I have met this noble man by the name of Diedrick Cragsmere in Waterdeep and he has handed me a letter with a rough description of a woman to hand it to, I found myself in the town of Leilon. He told me that the woman he's so eager to send the letter to, should have arrived there with a man of which she said to have claimed to be her brother. It was a big mystery and nobody has heard of the name. While I arrived in the evening, not a lot of people were around and I have decided to rest up at the Inn/Tavern. The town was rather small and not many buildings looked out of the ordinary. There were some places where the markets are located. They have a blacksmith, bakery, leatherworker and a few more shops that are active during the time of day.

During my travel, I came in touch with a very ... Interesting character who goes by the name of Tibirin. He's standing about 2 meters tall! He's like a wall, I'm telling you! ... By my own surprise, he didn't seem like a dangerous person ... Or cat ... He's a large cat ... Standing on two legs, wearing armor of who knows how much weight! ... Either way, he was rather interesting to me but neither did he know the woman who the letter is assigned to. Honestly, nobody knows about any Maria Silverlight! Well, at least my stay was pleasant. It's my first time in an inn and the people are surprisingly friendly around here. If I ever feel lost on my way and don't know what to do, this is certainly a place I would love to visit again!

A Fortune Teller at the Carnival?!

The next morning, there was an event on the street. A man dressed in funny bright clothes that I have never seen, was yelling something about a carnival that we should all visit. Some children handed me a flyer but it had no location written on it. Is it common for this town not to give away the location of an event?! It was rather questionable but I didn't want to have it distract me from my quest at hand! I have met this beautiful young looking lady that I haven't yet learned the name of, but she has such beautiful hair and a stunning look ... Rather dreamy if you ask me. Something tells me she is something different ... But I can't exactly recall. Is she really human? Well, maybe one day I'll figure it out.

My path led me to the marketplace where I met two suspicious looking figures that stood out from the crowd. Shevat and an assumed guard of his? He immediately took a defensive stance when I only wanted to ask the man in the cloak something. Luckily he had that guard under control, who knows what he would have done ... And damn, they were rather tall, too. Is everyone around that height around here? I didn't mean to feel inferiority complexes on my path to glory ... Well, neither could they help me. Luckily my next move had me given a clue! And while it was rather ... Disappointing to realize that the name I was given and the ship she was supposed to be the captain of, is nothing but a name from a children's fairy tale. Talk about embarrassing ... Was that noble human drunk that day? He could as well have been drunk ... Well as I had already lost faith and the woman behind the counter was a little too eager after my money in exchange for her bread, the bread did come in handy with the next clue she had given me. It smelled great too, did I mention that? I couldn’t wait to put my teeth onto it ...

This woman, the description of her appearance seemed to match that of a fortune teller. It was also included in the event for which I have been handed the flyer. This clue led me to a man not too far separated from the woman on the market, he is the blacksmith of the town. He goes by the name Bruno. He's a large half orc who seemed about as lovesick as the man in Waterdeep! Is she using some sort of spell on them? What if she is hypnotizing them?! Is it really safe?! While my insecurities grew, the height of the man didn't help either. I felt my neck hurt by just looking at him, it was so much better when he just sat there to work ... And the man couldn't stop rambling about the woman! He totally missed my point! And it was so difficult to keep him concentrated! Just like that man! I'm telling you, that woman is DAN-GER-OUS. So with the bread as my weapon and the offer to give this man half of it, I had him under control! ... Well, mostly. I needed to keep waving it at him so he could break free from her spell! Maybe she's a powerful magician! In any case, he gave me the information I needed but then he needed me to wait. And for what?! So he could write her a letter that I can deliver to her! Do I look like a mailman?! I was hoping for something more heroic while I was at it!

I saw Tibirin outside while I was waiting for Bruno. Not knowing whether or not I should wait but I had forgotten to ask him about the location which was missing on the flyer. He has previously visited them, so he should know! What a pain ... Luckily Tibirin came to me and helped the man speed up his little letter and I could ask him the whereabouts of this event, so that my quest is finally over and I can more on to the next. I sorta feel that this man will not much remember anything of my role in this if he cannot stop drooling over her looks like that! It was such a pain and just when I got what I wanted, he continued to ramble! Tibirin has saved me that day! Even if roughly tugging my collar like that wasn't a very pleasant feeling ...

The two of us have decided to head to the Carnival event to meet that mysterious and dangerous woman, now by the name of Anna.

Visiting the Fortune Teller

It was a rather long walk for a place which wasn't mentioned in the flyer, but with the rough description, we have managed to find it. What we saw around us was rather new to me. There were a lot of tents positioned around us but something caught both mine and Tibirin's attention and it were the large cages to our right. While they are indeed rather large, seeing wild animals in a cage wasn't entirely pleasant to the eye. While it has aggravated the large cat, I somehow managed to speak some sense into him and promised that we'll soon leave after my work here is done. We went on and walked around the place to explore anything out of the ordinary and hoped to find someone to ask about this Anna, when suddenly we came in touch with the familiar characters. It was Shevat and his guard. I learned that his name was Naedithas and he looks ... Rather special. While he mostly is sulking, I sorta feel that this guy has a bit of a story to tell. It must have been a terrible experience, whatever made him feel that way.

Shevat appeared happy to see us and approached us, so that we could talk. Suddenly we were distracted from our chat when a man by the name of Nico approached us and suggested we visit his sister. And finally he spoke of her name and we truly did arrive at the right spot. Knowing that she may be able to hypnotize people, I felt rather intimidated at first. But that holy looking woman with blond hair which I met at the Inn this morning, she was also there. Was this all just a coincidence? She entered first, seeming rather interested in the whole thing. I still had a bad feeling about it. This carnival kind of thing isn't really my sort of thing ... And from her look when she came out of the place, she looked rather ... Well, much like Bruno, just less lovesick and more confused and disorientated. It symptoms subsided after a minute and she appeared fine.

Why am I dragged into this?!

I wasn't sure what to think of it but she did claim to be fine, which I could only accept. It raised my suspicions. Nico has forced us to enter but Shevat went in on free will, or so it seemed. I was just hoping that he wouldn't become a victim of her spell as well. Though, I can actually imagine it to look funny if he were. I don't know him well but he looks like a simple man that will rarely go out of his way to do anything out of the ordinary. So when he left the room, he looked different. He looked a little sad, I'm unsure why or what he has been told. He didn't look as disorientated as the woman did. So I decided that it was my turn to finally approach her about the letter. All I needed was to leave it there! But that man, Nico, he pushed me inside and shut the door behind me! I'm not interested in being hypnotized, dammit!

A little nervous but still as brave as ever, I tried to maintain my posture! And I asked her about her identity but neither did she want to answer me! I tell you, these people are all bribing me today! Can't I just ask her a question if the entry is free by default? It doesn't cost anything, does it?! And who knows what she will do if she has access to my past! What if she's going to tell people about my identity! No, she has given me the option to ask about either my future or past and that, I had to, else I can't fulfill my duty! So, I sat down, did what she needed me to and she revealed to me what she called the future. There was this funny smell in the dark space but it didn't do a lot to me, nothing seemed out of the ordinary besides the suspicions I had about her. She pulled out her cards, shuffled them neatly and told me to put my hand on it. Which I did. With eyes of disbelief, I watched her proceed to the next step as she revealed the cards one by one.

The first card was discouraging, it had a person with gallows behind him. Yeah, she told me that my future will make me do sacrifices and I will pray to the Gods, that I will not make any more mistakes like I have in my past. There followed a person with two light sources, it was like a symbol for hope, maybe even a sparkle. I do like that thought, it sure reminds me of my glory. Then she said something about that I may become someone of great deeds! Much like a hero! ... Or a villain. I'm unsure what makes her think of me so poorly! I would never do things for evil! I felt shaken by the thought but I didn't let it get to me. To quickly get it over with, I made her answer to my questions. She has revealed herself to me, it was something I didn't expect from her. She matched the description. She is just a human woman with a bit of a tan and long, beautiful black hair. Her eyes also matched the description and so did the bracelets and earrings. She has exposed to me that the man whom I received the letter from to deliver, has given her an odd feeling. She felt intimidated by his odd behavior and has given a false name. Apparently it happens rather often, which had me wondering why. Of course, she is a beautiful woman, but far from anything of the hypnotizing kind. Did her spell not work on me? Ah, who knows ... I cannot be fooled, can I?~

After I was done delivering the two letters, I could finally escape the odd scented space of a poorly lit environment and jump back into the fresh air. One by one, the others went in and came out. Some were ... Acting odd but nothing too strange. I suppose? Besides that, half elf, he was smiling! ... That was a strange sight, to think that this man can look so different with just that tiny smile! Woah ...

You're kidding me!

Just when everything was peaceful, we heard some yelling in the back. There was a commotion of some sort. Only later on, I managed to pick up a familiar name. These people are calling for a man named Nico, who quickly jumped inside and shut the doors. He's kidding right?! Meters away from us, a young girl was victimized from an attack by some hostile looking travelers. I'm unsure what group they belong to but they seemed to be a group of travelers. Violent travelers. I'm not sure who the girl belongs to but he was their hostage for the situation that began to unfold in front of our eyes. They threatened us and the people around us for him to come out, or the young girl will die on the spot. Besides all that, they will put the place on fire. I tried to get Nico out and with Naedithas help, we were really trying but nothing seemed to respond. There was only a verbal fight inside we could overhear. It sounded like Anna was unaware of Nico's actions. Well, Naedithas has worked his magic and opened up the door with force and told them to cooperate. We had the situation under control, or so we thought, when the travelers became impatient. I would have just handed that guy in exchange for the girl's safety! What was this all about, anyway?!

... Wait, an opportunity!

We managed to take down the offense and even had a guy running for his life! Not only that! A tiger has helped us in combat! Can you believe it?! Because I certainly cannot! But I saw it happening! And it was gross ... I have seen some blood in my life but not many deaths and ... I will require some time to get used to this sort of lifestyle. We have saved the day! And even Nico's sore butt! He did help fighting the fires around us at least ... And Anna got rather badly wounded during the fight. I'm happy she had her health restored with a potion.

Inside the fortune telling place, we discovered that the reason for this fight was caused by a book that was stolen. Not by anyone random, no, it was Nico who was the thief! And it was not just any book, this is a book belonged to an apprentice spellcaster, a man by the name of Samuel Deepgrof. The location was included, it was Pentrich. A place far away from here. I believe this book is of little value, it only has beginner spells in there which is nothing out of the ordinary and neither did it have anything of use to us, so we have left it. Our deeds have been rewarded with two bottles of liquor. Wine, she named it. It was labeled with the picture of a raven and the text was "Red Dragon Crush". It's a liquor of value she says. I cannot exactly tell from its appearance but I'll believe her. Along it, we have been rewarded with some gold. While I wouldn't want to take money from a circus, I understand that money improves our long travels. Once we made it through, the fortune teller immediately shoved a new quest in our pocket. Apparently it's originally from a man of higher position in Barovia. His daughter is in danger and he requires a group of capable men to rescue her. All I can say is ... Count-me-in. If this is a man of such status, I might as well have found my shortcut.

In our journey so far, the five of us were forced to fight as a group. And while we were, I learned that the guys I have met in Leilon, are truly capable warriors. I honestly felt pretty safe around them during the fight, and even the aggressive looking guys were fighting cooperatively. I really felt like ... Like this was meant to be. I really felt like ... I belong somewhere. And somehow, I have hoped to stick around just a little more. Since all of them are in, I feel stronger than I ever felt. I feel like this will become a lot of fun! This is my future and now I shall put the freedom I have fought for, to good use. The five of us have enjoyed the carnival show and then we have returned to Leilon for a stay in the tavern. This time, as a group. A unity.

I cannot wait to learn more about my companions. And the name of the woman who I haven't learned before. But one thing keeps nagging me about this team ... Why are they all so extremely tall?! What have they been eating in their life?!
