CHARACTER: Streth Evira
CLASS: Paladin  LVL: 03

(Day 5) At the flaming Fist's fort, Gruta Halsdottir guided us to her commander. She who has an ambition to dominate the terrain beyond the borders and its fearful threats. She introduces herself as the Flaming Fist Blaze, Liara Portyr. This position translates to the major of the Flaming Fist, a very high rank.

She offers us many tasks as adventurers, to which she can promise us a charter in return for. Rather than simply paying the 50 gold for it.

Task 1 : Ghoul Hunting

Obtain the heads of ghouls in return for 20 gold per head. Always be aware of its jaw.

Task 2 : Scouting Shilku Bay

We are provided a ship for travel to explore the Southwestern (SW) side of the continent as visible at our map. We may come across the Turtle dragon, however the Flaming Fist superior assures us that it only aims for the larger ships to obtain more gold from. (especially noble kind)

Task 3 : Investigate strange footprints

South of Fort Beluarian, near the highly infested region of the undead, there are large footprints found. Liara Portyr would like to know where this creature comes from, and if it poses a threat.

As we discuss these tasks, and reveal our interests for task number 1, as we are told that we may encounter them on our way between Fort Beluarian and Port Nyanzaru, she offers us a charter with full trust that we will not betray it. We agree to the task, and intend to do our best upon the sworn words of Smuck, yet assigns me, Streth Evira, the leadership position. I find it quite funny, but I do appreciate it. I have been doing a good job, have I not? Haha! ...

Smuck's interests in fire aligns with the Flaming Fists' ranks and their commander seems interested in the "dwarf" to join their cause. He seems fascinated already, merely by the promise of fire-based titles. Such decisions aren't yet made, but who knows what may come.

We left the building and are led back to the markets where we are to wait for the charter to be made. Shago has eyed us from a distance and made yet another attempt to convince us to take him. We did eventually do that, upon the agreement that he will be paid per day, rather than thirty days in advance. This price is 5 Gold per day.

He warned us not to take the druid with us, adding some fierce crusades or the like against the undead, along with the mentioning of being dragged into their highly infested region and potentially dying. From what I could catch from Gat, there was truth in his words, but I doubt a man like him would go through such lengths.

Our plan is to keep an eye on Shago and travel to Port Nyanzaru to keep the promise and watch if this man does anything suspiciously. Shago leaves to obtain his goods for travel as we head to the well for refreshments and talk with the druid. He seems to have already heard the news, of which Shago made him clear of. He wasn't quite pleased by the odd rumors that Shago told about him, and would like a word with him sometime. I do hope that no one gets hurt ... He also assures us that he is quite familiar with the undead, and can always be found here at Fort Beluarian.

With the charter obtained and Shago's return, we gave our goodbyes and left for the journey.

Day 6 : Entirely uneventful, medium rain, double movement

Day 7 : Heavy wind, which improves over time, uneventful, double movement

Day 8 : Heavy rain, which eventually grew better, and a mild wind that grew strong. Equally uneventful and regular pace.

Day 9 : This morning when we close in to Port Nyanzaru, I am told to address the situation to Shago. I was least prepared for such confrontation, yet I gathered my strength and did address it. Shago swears that he has never done anything on multiple occasions, but I could tell that he is hiding something. However, when it was addressed who is involved, he got startled. We learned that Shago lived in Port Nyanzaru for 20 years and has friends there, yet nobody knows anything of him. It was quite odd, perhaps not a popular individual. It was truthful that he indeed never got involved with the merchant prince(ss) in the slightest.

At that point, we needed to convince him that we will indeed not kill him. It was never the plan in my opinion. I'd rather not get involved with such matters. If Kwayothé wishes someone gone, I am quite certain that she has her ways. According to Shago, Fort Beluarian is much less safe for him to be than Port Nyanzaru, so he assures us that when we wish to enter, that he will be fine.

With that conversation taking place, we continued a steady pace. Shago was up front and keeping a sharp eye.

Day 10 : Heavy rain which gradually lessens. Equally uneventful.

Day -1 (11) : (Encounter . . .)

NOTES: If the charter is lost, a new one can always be obtained at the commander. The charter is a scroll assigned to the leader of a group that allows passage to the jungle by the Flaming Fists rules. We believe that the merchant princess' is making an attempt to rid the Flaming Fists off their continent, by putting us in trouble with the murder of their new recruit, but we are uncertain. The Flaming Fists aren't loved by the people. Perhaps she thinks of Shago is a traitor for joining the Flaming Fists if he has indeed lived for 20 years in Port NyanZaru.
