SESSION #05 : A vision within a Dream
Apr. 27th, 2024 12:09 am
CHARACTER: Streth Evira
CLASS: Paladin LVL: 02
In total, we discovered the bodies of four adults, which may be the adventurers, and that of eight children. An unfortunate discovery, after Gat and I made a small grave for some, and took along a few of the skull as proof, along with the tentacle of a creature. Afterwards, we returned to the edge of the Refusal Pit to head toward the Old City.
The air was quite clear once we left the Refuse Pit, it was like a blessing from the divine. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two hooded individuals that gestured to us to follow them. We did, even with some insecurity on Arden's side. These brought us to a place with water and soap. "Wash." They said to us.
I cured Smuck from his disease through divine magic, and this very same moment, I had use the opportunity to force him and Arden to get washed. It was as if I had to wash two of my own children, ones I never had. It would seem like I was quite successful in my task! Haha! Oh, I am quite proud of this success! The two smell lovely now!
Afterwards they led us back to Pock-Marked Po. The head of the Old City. He told us that his men observed our struggle. He seems aware of our battle, but the specifics came with the evidence of both skulls and the magical illusion of the creature itself by Smuck's doing. It is quite impressive of a sight! Little idea that I had, that these things are even possible!
He thanked us in the name of the citizens of the Old City, however ... It came to his attention that we have interfered with their traditions at the Executioner's Run. The people demand a compensation for this disrespectful act, but Pock-Marked Po told us that we are forgiven in his name. Our bonds, however, are mildly damaged with the act. Perhaps we should decide more carefully about our future involvement in cases. This heroic act of ours will not compensate for all we may do. He has warned us that if we have a problem, that we must head to him to avoid future conflict. We must bear this in mind. Then he granted us the box with the magical gem as promised. One that bears a value we could only dream of possessing. May we make good use of it.
With the sky darkening above, we hurried back to the inn and had dinner. It was rich in flavor, I do not believe I ever had a meal this great before. Afterwards, we parted ways at the room, for Gat and I took a bath in addition, simply to relax after what happened. I left the other three behind with the gem and a warning not to do any foolish acts, such as to summon the elemental within the room.
When we returned after a delightful bathing time, we returned to the room which ... Seemed not to be of any worse condition. I may need to thank Jasper for this positive outcome. The final hours before bed, we enjoyed a collective study session. Practicing our speech in the foreign language. It was really fun! Arden was occupied with the map in the meanwhile. After writing some entries in my journal, we went to bed for morning to come.
. . .
That morning, we woke up with a pleasant surprise. Gat told us that he may have had a vision. A foreigner made contact to him, with the promise to help with the Death Curse. We are invited to meet this person at a hut, located at a plateau which we would find if we would follow the Soshenstar river. The name of this person is Nanny Pu'pu. She knows the weakness to the Death curse, it is said?
While many of us had our doubts, I shared my opinion. We must hold onto each clue we may have, for not all have evil intentions with their exchange for knowledge. While it is concerning that this person is familiar with our quest, it may be that the message has been passed of our deeds within Port Nyanzaru and beyond. It ... Makes me feel quite famous! Haha! What a nice feeling ... Like a hero of some sort, we can only dream of as small boys!
Our plan for the day is to make an appointment with the merchant prince Wakanga O'tamu to learn of the gold he is willing to offer us for the magic item. Perhaps our travel with a good cause will be much more secure like this. Afterwards, when noon will come, we should pay visit to the Temple of Savras to meet Head priest Zitembe and learn of his findings through visions. Perhaps a new question comes to mind, we could ask about the one Gat has received a vision from? Not only that, a mission awaits us at the Executioner's Run if we accept.
May Helm ward us with His might, clear our path and bless our Quest to restore the balance of both life and death."
