After we enjoyed a short break around the campfire, we decided that it was time for a little exploring. Simply, to make sure that the wererats would return to a safe place and let the miners live their life in peace.

Close to us, located to the southeast, there was a shrine which we closely observed. The ones who went inside, Kyndel, Yolantha and Hemlock, discovered a bell on top of the shrine, but it had no such thing as a rope attached. For unknown reasons, they thought it was odd and urged one of us to take a closer look.

I recognized it as a task of my own, realizing that climbing to the roof could potentially be dangerous to any of them. I quickly made my way up, but I accidentally pulled out one of the rocks of the building's ruins, for which, I hope, will be forgiven. The second attempt to climb it was successful, and I made it to the roof. Kyndel requested me to take a look for any hidden treasures on the roof as well. Unsure as of why I should find any of the sort on the roof, I made sure not to disappoint him!

As I explored the surroundings, my attention was drawn by some beautiful birds with blue feathers. They seemed so calm and at ease. I have never seen these before in my life, it was the best thing after the recent happenings. It's great how the beauty of nature survives even in these regions filled with threats.

Eventually, I made it to the bell, and I was given the command to hit it at the same time as Don-Jon, who hit the other, iron bell on the ground. I did as they said, but the terrible thing is that ... A piece of the paint came off as I hit the metal with the back of my hammer. I felt miserable about destroying the property of the lost, hoping that the owner of this shrine will forgive me.

Upon closer inspection, I've never seen a bell like this before either, there is no such mechanism which a rope will require. It turned out that this bell is a fake, a method to hide a treasure.

When Kyndel made a graceful jump on top of the roof, he let me know that the bell is made of gold and ever since, he's been acting odd. He's been obsessed with it, not wishing to keep his eyes away from it. Hopefully, it isn't the wrath of the deity, that as soon as the situation is restored, we'll get our rational Kyndel back. The others demanded both Kyndel and I to let the bell drop, so that it can be sold. Both Yolantha and I were against it, stealing property is wrong, but they convinced us that the people who it originally belonged to, are no longer. When the wererats return, they will keep it to themselves as well. An unclaimed treasure is all it is to them, neither did Don-Jon hesitate to claim credit for a part of the value.

They piled up a set of beds they discovered from a room inside the shrine, which they believed the wererats rest in. I did as they told and let the bell drop onto the beds, three of them were utterly destroyed. Again, they told me that it isn't difficult to repair or find an alternative for them to rest on, but truly, if these are a part of the shrine, the least I must do is to apologize.

I rushed down and made my way to the statue, where I kneeled down right next to the sister for a prayer of forgiveness. Something odd happened when I did, I lost connection to my body, as if I was trapped inside something. It was a vision. It led me all the way to the snowy mountains south of our location, where a castle or fortress was present. On top of this building, I saw the familiar, white dragon. He was resting peacefully. I learned that this place was called the Icespire Hold.

When I got back to reality again, I woke up in Yolantha's arms, who seemed to have caught me when I lost consciousness and told her what I saw. She urged me to tell the rest and to make haste to our next destination. We must inform the people, especially those from Phandalin. It was a gift for which I am thankful. I smiled at the statue when I left. We made plans to replace the bell that they took, with the one that Don-Jon found in the rubble outside. We assume that the two have been swapped during a certain event to hide the treasure. I wonder who made the effort to transform the gold to the bell, it is so well-made!

Don-Jon insisted on carrying the bell, for which Kyndel warned me. He believes that the man wants to betray us to keep the bell for himself. I was skeptical about it myself, but who knows, the boy may be right. I'll simply keep my eyes on the man's behavior. Stealing is terrible and the fact that we took away this gold, doesn't sit very right with me, either.

On our way back to the goldmine, it got dark, and we decided to set up camp for the night. Our rest got interrupted by an attack. We were attacked by three giant boars during the first watch, but we took care of it with success. When I was alarmed for the watch that I've shared with Hemlock, we talked a little. I used that moment to see if she was doing well after the fight, after all, she was the first who was attacked by one of them. She revealed that she did get hurt, so I decided to relieve her from the wounds she had, which she did for me first. It is great to have such reliable companions. I am lucky to have met them.

The morning greeted us with a nicely brewed soup by Don-Jon, it was to my luck that I could take two portions of it when Kyndel refused his. It was absolutely delicious! This man is such a great chef!

We made our way to the mine afterwards, where two wererats greeted us at the entrance, but there was something off about their behavior. They led us in the mine, guiding us in a different room as we previously came. The passage to the room of their leader was barricaded, and as soon as we proceeded deeper in, a sudden command was given and the wererat that was hidden threw something that caused an explosion. Some of us got badly hurt. It was a trap, they betrayed our trust!

All of us were dragged into combat against our will, forced to defend ourselves against what we thought were our allies. I felt the bitter taste at the sight of their attacks. There was no remorse in their eyes, nor their actions. They took full responsibility with what they did. It sickened me, and I let them experience the wrath of Torm as I fought them among the others. We showed them the strength of our companionship as we supported each other in the battle. May they carry this lesson to their grave.

We continued to explore the cave after the battle was over, doing our best to find the wererats that fled from us. It caused our group to get separated. Hemlock and Kyndel were with me to the north, while the other three went south. We hoped to find the survivors, but found nothing in our path, until a loud yell sounded in the distance. Kyndel ran past me, muttering some words to Hemlock as he ran. Something about that, she and I can handle while he'll check on the bell. We locked eyes for a moment, but my attention was drawn by Hemlock's shrieking sounds. She was in danger! I hurried my way to her as the distance between us and Kyndel increased.

A large worm-tentacle-like creature was facing us, and I saw in what poor shape Hemlock was. Again, I healed some of her wounds before I put myself in between her and the enemy, protected by the might of torm which the creature couldn't surpass with its foul moves. Hemlock refused to back away when I got in position, instead, she helped me battle the creature, for which I was thankful. We make a great team, and I made sure to let her know before we followed the tunnel that led outside.

On the field below us, there were ten graves with crosses to them. They seem freshly made, it was an unfortunate sight. Unknowing who was buried here, I placed myself close for a prayer while Hemlock continued in a different direction. I will catch up with her soon, I promised to myself, but the dead, I pray that they may find peace.

No matter who they were, in death, we are all equal, no matter the sides we chose in life. We all deserve rest, may they, too. I requested Torm to watch over them. Hopefully, the others inside the cave are doing well. I hereby request you, Torm, to protect them from harm as well.
