Location: catacomb, Church, Vallaki
Side Note: Warding spells are positioned on the walls of the monastery, symbols of the Deity of Death, Jergal are on the grates of the room in which we first fought. One of the strange monsters crawled out of there.

Deeper inside the unexplored environment, we traveled past the river until we met a large ancient looking monastery. I was curious to know whether or not we'd find some helpful materials from the monks that may or may not have worked here. Clearly, our objective lies elsewhere than my curiosity. My gaze rested on the others, awaiting them to lead us through this area. I'd like to see how they work and cooperate and so I followed the steps of the tall lady of our group to a room which appears to be a chamber of both rest and writing. We caught books laying around but the text is difficult to read even after mending it. What a shame. Who knows how old this building could be? It might as well have been from an age before the count became one of the controlling rulers that he is now. As of now, this room has little meaning to us. That is when I rested my eyes on the stone wall. Magical circles, a soft mumbling sound. There is a spell of warding on these walls. I suspect it is large enough to protect the entire building. One, that offers safety against the undead. We will see how powerful it is against the enemies seeking residence in these rooms and alleyways.
We continued to the next room. A mere storage room, soon to be followed by yet another room. It has nothing but crates positioned. Not a single sign of danger at this point. I noticed that when I followed the path to another room, it led to the path which Yshvara and the others traveled. She returned with a few others, to explore the outer area of the rooms we were in. I left through the door when a well in the distance caught my attention, one which the road connected. From both the left and the right, I caught a signal. It might be dangerous to go there. I let the others know about it but Yshvara suggested checking out the other rooms in advance. I was fine with that. I was eager to continue exploring until Shevat called after me and told me to stay close to him and Pyre, who both were still in the same room.
He'd rather have an undead expert close to him. It was odd to hear him reach out to me for something he despises so much but I let it slip and did what I was told. The three of us continued to follow the path to another room that was connected to one of the many storage rooms until Pyre stood eye in eye with an enemy in a large, open space. In that moment, I moved behind her and let my gaze rest on the open space to seek for any undead signals. To my left, right around the corner, I got multiple signals. At this moment, it was difficult for Shevat to see, so Yshvara moved to him and granted him the light. His wooden staff is now glowing a bright light that lit our path. With the enemies nearly, we all drew our weapons and prepared ourselves to fight them off. Who knows how many enemies are left for us to defeat? I told myself not to overdo it, to keep enough energy for the upcoming fights but I honestly didn't expect what would come.
<Battle start>
Yshvara moved away from us to strengthen the forces of the other two and the elk. Shevat used his large sabertooth tiger spectrum to enter the field. Hopefully it is worth the energy that he is spending, I thought at this point but when Pyre was bitten and held by an odd creature, I knew that it would take more than just brute force to deal with this mission. I slipped past her and took down the undead enemies with the help of Arvirin and Tibirin before moving on to help take out the others. With my spiritual weapon out, I hoped to take them down quickly but they turned out to be some stubborn obstacles.
The ones that previously attacked Pyre moved in the direction of Tibirin but we struck those down as well. In that moment, she managed to take it out on her own but the unknown enemy was glancing at the bright light she gave off. It was soon for her to be dragged all the way to the creature. It was like the creature launched its claw at her, I have never seen something like that before. I assumed that I can consider myself lucky for this exact thing. It is standing on two pole-like claws ... It is strange to see how it actually balances itself but it somehow manages. Very unfortunate ...
The other enemies were taken out, one by one and eventually we could concentrate on the issue that kept Pyre pierced on the spot. Soon to be followed by Tibirin that was pressed against the wall. He does often end up taking a lot of damage in battle. Well, I suppose his interests are very combat-orientated by nature ... With only one enemy to strike down, it almost seemed like the situation was under control until another one of those climbed its way up the grates to accompany the other and immediately caught the wood elf in its piercing grip. Stuck to it, like a blade attached to a rope, he could barely fight against the merciless attacks the enemy dealt. My spiritual weapon wasn't enough, the wounds most of us carried were slowly bringing us to our feet. I felt an immense pain spread when the new enemy caught me as well. It had its claw deeply attached in my back and made an attempt to pull me close. Pyre tried to help but soon enough, both of them collapsed to the ground. Arvirin even went down twice ... The sight of the two was difficult to bear.
With just enough focus to see my surroundings, bleeding from the wounds I am given, I felt my end draw closer. Normally, it wouldn't feel this terrible ... We have a job to finish, I cannot afford dying here. Father Lucian Petrovich is counting on us and so is Vallaki ... Tibirin managed to take out the enemy that was close to us both and helped Arvirin back on his feet while I escaped the grip with my final bit of strength. Together with Pyre, they fought the enemy until it was no longer. I needed to retreat to where Shevat stood. I had no energy left nor strength to fight. Embarrassing ... But we managed once Shevat enchanted Pyre's appearance and she transformed into a giant ape and pushed it through the grate from where it came from. The blood covered body split until it fit the openings of the grate and its remains fell through the opening. It was a satisfying sight after suffering for so much.
Hopefully, we will never meet these ever again.
<Battle end>
We studied the surroundings for a little moment. I saw a symbol positioned at the grate which matches that of Jergal, God of Death, A skull holding a scroll. Deity of undertakers favor. I wonder what it means to find it here ... The depth of the place from underneath the grate was difficult to calculate from the surface. Clearly, it is deeper than we could reach. On these walls, the symbols of warding were also present. It seems to have weakened, or maybe the enemies were simply too strong. Two skeletons were able to move without issue. Unable to hold it out any longer, the six of us pulled back to the room in which the beds were present.
Shevat glanced over to me and asked where a suitable place for a relic would be. In my condition at that moment, it was difficult for me to focus on anything but the burning pain in my back. It was a simple logical reaction of mine to tell him that I would keep it far away from reach, for it to lay somewhere untouched. Arvirin suggested a pedestal, to which he is familiar but honestly ... It would stand out. If any place, I would suggest something that requires a key or mechanism that only one possesses or a key that requires yet another mechanism to be found. It must not be found, may not be touched or tainted. I used this same moment to return the druid a question ... But he refuses to answer. It isn't the right moment, he claims. We nearly died in combat just now ...
I believe that if any of us holds related information, a good moment to share would be now but both Pyre and Yshvara interrupted me. I dropped the subject entirely and kept my thoughts to myself. It was frustrating. Must we keep secrets from each other in a battle between life and death? ... *Foolish people. I won't waste my time to question them any longer.
After the rest ended, the team forced me to explore the remaining spaces in the eastern side of the monastery. One of the two doors led to an empty stable, the other revealed a wooden stairs and a pathway to lead to another door, which otherwise could not be reached. Curious as the women were, they climbed their way up while Tibirin held his ground. We locked eyes and he told me to follow them for he might be too heavy. He might cause it to break, he said and with the condition of the wood, I could say that he was probably right about it. Following his suggestion, I carefully moved my way up and met the others on the other side. Quickly to be followed by Tibirin. We heard a loud snap and a rough, dull sound on the lower ground. Yeah, I believe he didn't lie ...
He threw some rope over the wall for us to reach and pull. With our combined strength, we pulled the tabaxi all the way up and decided to explore our surroundings. There are various urns standing around the room. Of which one fell over. It's covering the ground with its ashes and remains of bones. Pyre and Yshvara moved closer to the stairs and noticed a type of mechanism on the top stairs to a stone door. We can't afford trying to step on it but we have no other clue than to give it a try. My eyes rested on the urns to the side and I reached out for one of them to see whether or not it would carry enough weight. A sound plan, I thought, until loud whispers and a loud cackle reached our ears. Not again, I thought to myself. I noticed Shevat's piercing gaze in my direction. He's probably going to give me an earful again ...
"Don't disturb the dead ...", one of the voices said. "He did it ...", another followed. The urns began to glow, no matter how quickly I put it down again. On each corner of the room a spectral form started to take the shape of a grim reaper, similar to the ones in the attic. Well, I better hold onto my weapon once again ...
